In my opinion, that is a better spot for the max mode. But I do prefer my lights to start on moonlight/low and work their way up. My EagleTac T20C2 and Surefire E1B backup already fill the need for brightness on the first click. But an XP-G with the throw the Maelstrom is supposed to have is very tempting.

Yeah, I'm not surprised it isn't showing up on their site yet. It was just recently revealed here: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showpost.php?p=2544448&postcount=115

Interesting development. Haven't seen this on 4sevens site. But I trust what you say is accurate. Nice to see that some manufacturers will respond to the flashlight buying community.

Well some news just came out that you might want to consider. 4Sevens just announced that there was a quiet update to the UI that eliminates the "Low" mode in the general use section. Now that section is "Max, High, Med, Moon". "Max" is included in both locations. I personally think this is quite a step forward.

Enjoy reading your reviews. Straight and to the point. While run times and drop offs may be important to some, it's nice to read a " this is what it is." Though it reads like a fine light, and one I considered purchasing, the deal breaker was the max output being grouped with the strobe modes.
